Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [05/2019 - ]

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 09/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2017 - 05/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [05/2019 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  6. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [05/2019 - ]

  7. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [05/2019 - ]

  8. REMOVE BATTERY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [05/2019 - ]

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  7 [10/2014 - 05/2019], or see step  7 [05/2019 - ]

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  8 [10/2014 - 05/2019], or see step  8 [05/2019 - ]

  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  9 [10/2014 - 05/2019], or see step  9 [05/2019 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the PCV hose from the No. 1 air cleaner hose.

    2. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the No. 1 air cleaner hose.
  13. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.
    3. Using a 19 mm union nut wrench, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor and gasket.
