How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (BEAM AXIS MISALIGNMENT READING)* 
    1. Adjust the reflector height.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    2. Place the reflector.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Turn the cruise control main switch on.
    7. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
    8. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading
    9. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Offset Reading.
    10. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Offset Reading
    11. Calculate the "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" using the values "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" and "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading".
      1. "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" = "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" - "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading"

        Standard

        Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle) 

        Vertical -2.2 to 1.6 deg.
        Horizontal -0.6 to 0.6 deg.

      Result

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      HINT: 

      Refer to CAN Bus Check in CAN Communication System.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [05/2018 - 05/2019]

      OK

      CAN communication system is functioning normally.

  5. INSPECT WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the condition of the warning lights on the combination meter assembly.

      Result

      Warning lights other than the PCS warning light are not illuminated or flashing A
      Warning lights other than the PCS warning light are illuminated or flashing B

    Result: 

    GO TO MALFUNCTIONING SYSTEM

  6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Check if a pre-collision system warning message is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.

      Result

      "Pre-Collision System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" is displayed A
      Any of the following messages is displayed:
      • "Pre-Collision System Unavailable"
      • "Pre-Collision System Unavailable Clean Sensor"
      • "Front Camera Unavailable"
      • "Front Camera Vision Blocked Clean and Demist Windshield"
      B
      Warning message is not displayed C

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    CHECK CONDITIONS WHEN PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM DID NOT OPERATE. Refer to  SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  7. CHECK FOR DTCs* (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM) 

    HINT: 

    Refer to DTC Check / Clear.

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - 05/2019] 

    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Trouble Codes 

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Attempt to duplicate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again.

        Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Malfunction is duplicated but DTCs are not output A
      Malfunction cannot be duplicated and DTCs are not output B
      DTCs are output C

    Result: 

    GO TO SYMPTOM SIMULATION. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2017 - 05/2019]
