Removal [09/2014 - 01/2023]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2017 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - 03/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2019 - 01/2023]

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (w/o Spare Tire) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2019 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (w/ Spare Tire) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2019 - ]

  5. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY (w/o Spare Tire) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [03/2019 - ]

  6. REMOVE REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [03/2019 - ]

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [03/2019 - ]

  9. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [03/2019 - ]

  10. SEPARATE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH (for LH Side) 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and open the 2 covers.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 rope hook assemblies.

    3. Remove the 4 clips.

    4. Disengage the claw.
    5. Separate the luggage compartment trim cover LH from the vehicle body.
  11. SEPARATE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH (for RH Side) 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and open the 2 covers.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 rope hook assemblies.

    3. for LSD:
      1. Remove the 4 clips.

      2. Disengage the claw.
      3. Separate the luggage compartment trim cover RH from the vehicle body.
    4. for Torque Vectoring Differential:
      1. Disengage the clip and 5 guides and remove the deck side trim box RH.

      2. Remove the 4 clips.

      3. Disengage the claw.
      4. Separate the luggage compartment trim cover RH from the vehicle body.
  12. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 01/2023]

  13. SEPARATE REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and separate the rear wheel house liner.

  14. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Turn back the luggage compartment trim cover until the rear speed sensor connector can be seen.
    2. Disengage the rear speed sensor connector.

      *A for LH Side *B for RH Side
    3. Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire connector from the rear speed sensor.

      *1 Pad Wear Indicator Wire
      *2 Rear Speed Sensor
    4. Remove the 3 bolts and separate the rear speed sensor and 2 sensor clamps from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly and rear No. 2 upper control arm assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the rear speed sensor tip.
      • Clean the speed sensor installation hole and the contact surfaces every time the rear speed sensor is removed.
    5. Turn back the rear wheel house liner until the grommet can be disengaged.
    6. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 sensor clamps.

    7. Disengage the grommet and remove the rear speed sensor.
