Removal [08/2016 - 03/2018]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM assembly.
Refer to REGISTRATION [10/2015 - ]
- If the ECM assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM assembly.
- REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 08/2019]
- REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 08/2019]
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 03/2018]
- REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE ECM ASSEMBLY
- Remove the bolt and nut.NOTE:
If the ECM assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Bolt Nut - Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM assembly connectors.
*a Push *b Lock NOTE:After disconnecting the ECM assembly connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM assembly connectors.
- Remove the bolt and nut.
- REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
