Removal [08/2016 - 03/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM assembly.

      Refer to REGISTRATION [10/2015 - ]

    • If the ECM assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 03/2018]

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 03/2018]

  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. REMOVE ECM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and nut.
      NOTE:

      If the ECM assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM assembly connectors.

      NOTE:

      After disconnecting the ECM assembly connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM assembly connectors.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM assembly.
