Removal [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

- After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

- REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 1 RELAY BLOCK COVER
- REMOVE ECM
- Disconnect the 3 connectors from the engine room relay block.
- Disengage the 2 claws to separate the engine wire from the engine room relay block.
- Raise the 2 lock levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
*1 Grommet *a Lock lever NOTE:After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.
- Remove the bolt to separate the engine wire.
- Remove the grommet.
- Remove the bolt and nut.
- Disengage the guide to remove the ECM.NOTE:
If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Disconnect the 3 connectors from the engine room relay block.
- REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET
