With Manual Transaxle


IGNITION TIMING
1. Verify that the idle speed is within the specification.

Idle speed: 650-750 (700 ± 50) rpm

2. If not within the specification, adjust the idle speed.

Data Link Connector 1 (DLC-1):




3. Connect the data link connector terminals TEN and GND with a jumper wire.
4. Verify that the idle speed is within the specification.

Idle speed: 500-800 rpm

5. Connect a timing light to the high-tension lead of No.1 cylinder.

Timing Marks:




6. Verify that the timing mark (yellow) on the crankshaft pulley and the mark on the timing belt cover are aligned.

Ignition timing: BTDC 11-13° (12 ± 1°)




7. If the marks are not aligned, loosen the distributor lock bolts and turn the distributor to make the adjustment.
8. Tighten the distributor lock bolts to the specified torque.

Tightening torque: 19-25 Nm (1.9-2.6 kgf/m., 14-18 ft.lbs.)

9. Disconnect the jumper wire.

Timing Marks:




10. Verify that the ignition timing is within the specification.

Ignition timing: BTDC 6-18°
