DTC P18A2-00: Coupling Component Temperature Sensor: Low Input

P18A2-00: (PCM - SKYACTIV-G) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Coupling component temperature sensor: Low input
Detection condition
  • PCM detects a short to ground in the coupling temperature sensor circuit.
Fail-safe
  • The i-ACTIV AWD system control is temporarily stopped. (AWD protection condition)
Possible cause
  1. Coupling temperature sensor malfunction (Refer to COUPLING COMPONENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION in service information.)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between coupling temperature sensor and electrical supply unit (ESU) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)] in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Ignition is switched ON (engine off).
