DTC U0428-86: Check Sum Error Received From Steering Angle Sensor

U0428-86: (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Check sum error received from steering angle sensor
Detection condition	The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the vehicle control module (VCM) received a check sum error from the steering angle sensor.
Fail-safe	(See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Possible cause	Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules. Vehicle control module (VCM) (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .) Body control module (BCM) (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) Steering angle sensor related DTCs are stored in the body control module (BCM). (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) Steering angle sensor malfunction (Refer to CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA/ISRAEL SPEC.] in service information.) Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
