Remove, Overhaul & Install: Remove/Install/Overhaul: Distributor: Installation
To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure marks or indententions on distributor shaft and housing are aligned. Check or replace rubber "O" ring seal. After installing distributor, confirm distributor rotor is lined up with mark made during removal or set at No. 1 cylinder spark plug position. Check and adjust timing. See D - 4-CYL ADJUSTMENTS or D - V6 ADJUSTMENTS section. Tighten distributor hold-down bolt as specified. See DISTRIBUTOR HOLD-DOWN BOLT TORQUE SPECIFICATION table in this article.
