Anti-Backfire (AB) Valve

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Remove air cleaner cover and air filter. Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM. Place finger over AB valve suction port (inside air cleaner assembly).
  2. Quickly release throttle and allow engine speed to return to idle. If suction is felt, AB valve is functioning properly. If no suction is felt, ensure vacuum signal line to AB valve is not disconnected or restricted.
