Oil Pressure Sending Unit: 300ZX

  1. Remove harness connector from oil pressure sending unit. Sending unit is located next to oil filter. Connect ohmmeter between harness terminals and body ground.
  2. Turn engine off. Connect ohmmeter between oil pressure sending unit terminal and ground. With engine off, resistance should be greater than 83 ohms.
  3. With engine at idle and oil pressure at 57 psi (4 kg/cm2 ), resistance should be 25-31 ohms. With engine at a higher RPM and oil pressure at 85 psi (6 kg/cm2 ), resistance should be 13-20 ohms. Replace oil pressure sending unit if any of the resistance readings is not as specified.
