DTC Confirmation Test

Depending on equipment available, use one of the following to set DTC:

• Using scan tool, start engine and warm to operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between PCM connector terminal No. 60 and ground by backprobing connector. See Figure. Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Start engine and idle for at least 20 seconds. Select MODE 7 on scan tool.
• Using MIL, start engine and warm to operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on.Using DVOM, measure voltage between PCM connector terminal No. 60 and ground by backprobing connector. See Figure. Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Start engine and idle for at least 20 seconds. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and retrieve DTCs using MIL.
