BRAKELINE Bleeding
CAUTION:
When battery or ECM is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose data. Driveability problems may exist until adaptation systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
before disconnecting battery.
CAUTION:
Ensure brake fluid does not spill on painted surfaces or damage to finish will result.
- Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding operation. Fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Ensure reservoir is full at all times while bleeding air out of system. Turn ignition Off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Bleed brakes in sequence: RR, LF, LR and RF.
- Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve. Fully depress brake pedal several times. With brake pedal depressed, open bleeder valve to release air. Close bleeder valve. Release brake pedal slowly. Repeat procedure until clear brake fluid comes out of bleeder valve.
