DTC P0011: Intake Valve Timing (IVT) Control Performance Problem: Notes
NOTE:
Before performing diagnostic procedure, follow testing procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
The intake valve timing control system is utilized to control intake valve opening and closing timing. Engine coolant temperature signals, VSS signals, CKP and CMP sensor signals, and engine speed are used to determine intake valve timing. The intake camshaft sprocket position is regulated by oil pressure controlled by the intake valve timing control. When ECM sends ON signal to intake valve timing control solenoid valve, oil pressure is transmitted to camshaft sprocket. This makes it possible to control the shut/open timing of intake valve to increase engine torque in low/mid range and performance in high-speed range.
