Probable Cause

Malfunction is detected when ECM is malfunctioning. Only possible cause is a faulty ECM.

1. Malfunction A:  ECM calculation function is malfunctioning.
   NOTE: With malfunction A: ECM stops the electric throttle actuator control, throttle valve is maintained at a fixed opening (approximately 5°) by the return spring.
2. Malfunction B:  ECM EEP-ROM system is malfunctioning.
3. Malfunction C:  ECM self shut-down function is malfunctioning.
