Removal And Installation: Removal

CAUTION:
Before separating transaxle from engine, remove the crankshaft position sensor (OBD) from transaxle. Be careful not to damage sensor.
- Remove battery and bracket.
- Remove air duct between throttle body and air cleaner.
- Disconnect terminal cord assembly, PNP switch harness connector and revolution sensor harness connector.
- Drain ATF from transaxle.
- Disconnect control cable from transaxle.
- Disconnect oil cooler hoses.
- Remove drive shafts. Refer to REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION .
- Remove the intake manifold support bracket. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove starter motor from transaxle.
Tighten bolts to specified torque .
- : 33.3 - 46.1 N.m (3.4 - 4.7 kg-m, 25 - 34 ft-lb)
- Remove upper bolts fixing transaxle to engine.
- Support transaxle with a jack.
- Remove center member.
- Tighten center member fixing bolts to specified torque, Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove rear plate cover.
- Remove torque converter bolts.
Rotate crankshaft to gain access to securing bolts.
- Remove rear transaxle to engine bracket. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Support engine with a jack.
- Remove rear transaxle mount. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove lower bolts fixing transaxle to engine.
- Lower transaxle while supporting it with a jack.
