DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE: If DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, always turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.

NOTE: Before proceeding, ensure ambient temperature is more than 41°F (5°C).

CAUTION: DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage.

To set DTC, start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Measure voltage between ground and fuel tank temperature sensor signal circuit at ECM terminal No. 70 (Green/Orange wire) by backprobing. See Figure and Figure . Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Start engine and wait at least 20 seconds. With Scan Tool, see if first trip DTC is detected. If it is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
