DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of VSS circuit. During this test, 1st trip DTC may not be confirmed.

Raise and support vehicle with drive wheels off the ground. Start engine. Select MODE 1 with scan tool. VSS reading on scan tool should be able to exceed 6 MPH when drive wheels are rotating. If operation is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If operation is as specified, system is okay at this time.
