Airtight Check

  1. Start engine. Stop it after 1-2 minutes. Slowly depress brake pedal several times. If pedal goes farther down first time and gradually rises after second or third time, booster is airtight.
  2. Depress brake pedal while engine is running. Stop engine with pedal depressed. If pedal stroke does not change after holding pedal down 30 seconds, brake booster is airtight.
