Diagnostic Procedure

INSPECTION START
Do you have CONSULT-II?

Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 2.
2. No: GO TO 3.
CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION
With CONSULT-II
1. Start engine.
2. Check "PW/ST SIGNAL" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II under the following conditions.

OK or NG
1. OK: INSPECTION END
2. NG: GO TO 4.
CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION
Without CONSULT-II
1. Start engine.
2. Check voltage between ECM terminal 39 and ground under the following conditions.

OK or NG
1. OK: INSPECTION END
2. NG: GO TO 4.
CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
3. Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 39 and terminal 1.
  Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
  
  Continuity should exist.
4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 5.
2. NG: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
CHECK POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
1. Disconnect power steering oil pressure switch harness connector then start engine.
2. Check continuity between terminal 1 and ground.

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 6.
2. NG: Replace power steering oil pressure switch.
CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Perform , "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ".
