Reclining Switch Inspection

  1. CHECK FUNCTION 

    With CONSULT-II 

    With "RECLINING SW-FR, RECLINING SW-RR" on the DATA MONITOR, operate the reclining switch to check ON/OFF operation.

    CHECK FUNCTION

    Monitor item [OPERATION or UNIT] Contents
    RECLN SW-FR "ON/OFF" ON/OFF status judged from the reclining switch (FR) signal is displayed.
    RECLIN S W-RR "ON/OFF" ON/OFF status judged from the reclining switch (RR) signal is displayed.

    Without CONSULT-II 

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check voltage between driver seat control unit connector and ground.
    TERMINAL VOLTAGE

    P2 12 (O/B) Ground Reclining switch ON (RR operation) 0
    Reclining switch OFF Battery voltage
    27 (G/B) Reclining switch ON (FR operation) 0
    Reclining switch OFF Battery voltage

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Reclining switch circuit is OK.
    2. NG: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK RECLINING SWITCH CIRCUIT HARNESS CONTINUITY 
    1. Disconnect driver seat control unit and power seat switch LH.
    2. Check continuity between driver seat control unit connector P2 terminals 12 (O/B), 27 (G/B) and power seat switch LH connector P8 terminals 9 (O/B), 10 (G/B).
      1. 12 (O/B) - 9 (O/B): Continuity should exist. 
      2. 27 (G/B) - 10 (G/B): Continuity should exist. 
    3. Check continuity between driver seat control unit connector P2 terminals 12 (O/B), 27 (G/B) and ground.
      1. 12 (O/B) - Ground: Continuity should not exist. 
      2. 27 (G/B) - Ground: Continuity should not exist. 

      OK or NG

      1. OK: GO TO 3.
      2. NG: Repair or replace harness.

  3. RECLINING SWITCH INSPECTION 

    Check continuity between power seat switch LH as follows.

    RECLINING SWITCH INSPECTION

    P8 9 3 Reclining switch ON (RR operation) Yes
    Reclining switch OFF No
    10 Reclining switch ON (FR operation) Yes
    Reclining switch OFF No

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Check the condition of the harness and connector.
    2. NG: Replace power seat switch LH.
