Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check for AV Switch

  1. CHECK FUSE 
    • Make sure the following fuses of the AV switch are not blown.
    FUSE SPECIFICATION

    Terminals Power source Fuse No.
    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M98 1 (Y/R) Battery power 19
    2(V) ACC power 4

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate case of malfunction before installing new fuse.
  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect AV switch connector.
    2. Check voltage between connector terminals and ground as follows.
    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    Terminals Ignition switch position
    (+) (-) OFF ACC ON
    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M98 1 (Y/R) Ground Battery voltage Battery voltage Battery voltage
    2(V) 0V Battery voltage Battery voltage

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 3.
    2. NG: Check harness for open or short between AV switch and fuse.

  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 

    Check continuity between AV switch and ground as follows.

    CONTINUITY SPECIFICATION

    Terminals Ignition switch Continuity
    (+) (-)
    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M98 5 (B) Ground OFF Yes

    OK or NG

    1. OK: INSPECTION END.
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness.
