Relays Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Isuzu Trooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Relays test is used to test operation of Fuel Pump (FP) and A/C clutch relays.

  1. Connect TECH 2 or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located at lower left side of instrument panel, behind a small cover. Turn ignition on, and go to next step.
  2. on scan tool, select F3: MISCELLANEOUS TESTS. From application menu, select F1: RELAYS, and go to next step.
  3. Follow scan tool directions to test FP and A/C clutch relays.
  4. If relays test as specified, testing is complete. If FP relay fails test, test FP relay. See FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article. If A/C clutch relay fails test, test relay.
