Initial Condition To Activate The System

The operation of the vehicle security system is controlled by the doors, hood and trunk lid. To activate the vehicle security system, BCM must receive signals indicating the doors, hood and trunk lid are closed and the doors are locked.
When a door is open, BCM terminals No. 10, 11 or 14 receives a ground signal from each door switch. When front left door is unlocked, BCM terminal No. 74 receives a signal from terminal No. 14 of main power window and door lock/unlock switch.
When front right door is unlocked, BCM terminal No. 74 receives a signal from terminal No. 11 of front right power window switch.
When the hood is open, Intelligent Power Distribution Module (IPDM) receives a ground signal:
- From hood switch terminal No. 2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
- To IPDM terminal No. 51. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
- Through body grounds E15 (located underhood on front of left front fender) and E24 (located underhood in center of firewall). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
- From terminal No. 1 of the trunk lamp and trunk release solenoid switch. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
- Through body grounds B7 (located on left side "B" pillar) and B19 (located on left side behind rear seat back).
