Vehicle Security System Alarm Operation

The vehicle security system is triggered by:
- Opening a door.
- Opening the trunk lid.
- Opening the hood.
- Unlocking door without using the key or key fob.
The vehicle security system will be triggered once the system is in armed phase. when BCM receives a ground signal at terminals No. 10, 11, 14 (door switch), 18 (trunk lamp and trunk release solenoid switch) or receives a signal from the IPDM (hood switch).
Power is supplied at all times:
- To horn relay terminal No. 1. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
- Through 15-amp fuse (No. 25, located in fuse and fusible link box).
When the vehicle security system is triggered, ground is supplied intermittently:
- From IPDM terminal 53.
- To headlight high relay.
- To horn relay terminal No. 2.
The headlights flash and the horn sounds intermittently.
The alarm automatically turns off after 50 seconds, but will reactivate if the vehicle is tampered with again.
