Inspection Procedure

- CHECK CONNECTOR
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
- Check the terminals and connectors of the transfer control unit for damage, bend and loose connection (unit side and connector side).
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 2.
NG: Repair the terminal and connector.
- CHECK HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
- Disconnect the connector of transfer control unit.
- Check the resistance between the transfer control unit harness connector terminals.

OK or NG
OK: GO TO 3.
NG: Repair the transfer control unit branch line.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check the power supply and the ground circuit of the transfer control unit. Refer to "POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT " (Part time 4WD models) or "POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT " (All-mode 4WD models).
OK or NG
OK:
- Present error: Replace the transfer control unit. Refer to "TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT " (Part time 4WD models) or "TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT " (All-mode 4WD models).
- Past error: Error was detected in the transfer control unit branch line.
NG: Repair the power supply and the ground circuit.
