Operation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Altima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Close hood and lift wiper arms away from windshield (to prevent glass damage by wiper operation).
    NOTE: When auto active test is performed with hood opened, sprinkle water on windshield beforehand.
  2. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  3. Within 20 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON and press the front door switch LH ten times, then turn the ignition switch OFF.
    CAUTION: Close front door RH.
  4. Turn ignition switch ON.
  5. When auto active test mode is actuated, horn chirps once, and oil pressure warning lamp starts blinking.
  6. After a series of operations is repeated three times, auto active test is completed.
    NOTE: When auto active test mode has to be cancelled halfway, turn ignition switch OFF.
    CAUTION: Be sure to inspect "OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP STAYS OFF (IGNITION SWITCH ON) " and "DOOR SWITCH CHECK " when the auto active test cannot be performed.
