Overall Function Check

Use this procedure to check the overall function of the ASCD brake switch circuit. During this check, a 1st trip DTC might not be confirmed.

WITHOUT CONSULT-II 

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Check voltage between ECM terminal 108 (ASCD brake switch signal) and ground under the following conditions.

    A/T models 

    ASCD BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST CONDITIONS - A/T MODELS

    CONDITION VOLTAGE
    Brake pedal: Slightly depressed Approximately 0V
    Brake pedal: Fully released Battery voltage

    M/T models 

    ASCD BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST CONDITIONS - M/T MODELS

    CONDITION VOLTAGE
    Clutch pedal and/or brake pedal: Slightly depressed Approximately 0V
    Clutch pedal and brake pedal: Fully released Battery voltage
  3. If NG, go to "DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE ".

    If OK, go to next step.

  4. Check voltage between ECM terminal 101 (Stop lamp switch signal) and ground under the following conditions.

    ASCD BRAKE SWITCH VOLTAGE TEST CONDITIONS

    CONDITION VOLTAGE
    Brake pedal: Fully released Approximately 0V
    Brake pedal: Slightly depressed Battery voltage
  5. If NG, go to "DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE ".
