Oil Pan: Components: Removal

  1. Drain CVT fluid. Refer to "CHANGING CVT FLUID ".
  2. Remove oil pan bolts.
  3. Remove oil pan and oil pan gasket.
CAUTION: Check for foreign materials in the oil pan to help determine the cause of any malfunction. If the CVT fluid is very dark, smells burned, or contains foreign particles, frictional material (clutches) may need replacement. A tacky film that will not wipe clean indicates varnish build up. Varnish can cause valves to stick and can inhibit pump pressure.
