Diagnosis Procedure

DESCRIPTION 

Engine does not start when push-button ignition switch is pressed while carrying Intelligent Key.

NOTE:

• Before starting diagnosis check that vehicle condition is as shown in "Conditions of vehicle", and check each symptom.
• The engine start function, door lock function, power distribution system, and NATS-IVIS/NVIS in the Intelligent Key system are closely related to each other regarding control. The vehicle security function can operate only when the door lock and power distribution system are operating normally.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE 

1. CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY FUNCTION) 
   1. Lock/unlock door with Intelligent Key. Refer to System Description .

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   GO TO 2.

   NO>>

   Check Intelligent Key system (remote keyless entry function). Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

2. CHECK HOOD SWITCH 
   1. Check hood switch. Refer to Component Function Check .

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   GO TO 3.

   NO>>

   Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

3. CHECK DOOR SWITCH 
   1. Check door switch. Refer to Component Function Check .

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   GO TO 4.

   NO>>

   Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

4. CHECK HAZARD SWITCH 
   1. Check hazard switch. Refer to Component Function Check (Halogen Headlamp) or Component Function Check (LED Headlamp).

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES>>

   GO TO 5.

   NO>>

   Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

5. REPLACE BCM 
   1. Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

   Is the result normal?

   YES>>

   Inspection End.

   NO>>

   Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .
