System Relay (900 Series)

  1. Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 21 of ECU connector and ground. Check for relay operation by checking for voltage between terminal No. 9 and No. 11 of ECU connector. If voltage is present, system relay is functioning. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  2. Check for voltage on terminal No. 30 (RED wire) of relay and ground. See Figure . Check for voltage on terminal No. 86 (RED wire) of relay and ground. If voltage was not present, check wiring between terminal No. 30 (RED wire) and positive terminal. Also check wiring between terminal No. 86 (RED wire) and terminal No. 30 (RED wire). If voltage was present, go to next step.
  3. Using a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 85 of relay to ground. Check for voltage at relay terminal No. 87 (BRN/WHT wire) and terminal No. 87B (BRN/WHT wire). If no voltage is present, replace system relay. If voltage is present, go to next step.
  4. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 87 (BRN/WHT wire) of relay and terminal No. 9 of ECU connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 11 of ECU connector and ground. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 21 of ECU connector and relay terminal No. 85. Check for voltage between terminal No. 2 of air mass meter. If no voltage is present at air mass meter, check wiring for terminal No. 87B of system relay.
