Steering Column Lock System Check

  1. Turn ignition on. Steering column should unlock and listed scan tool parameters should display the following:
    • Lock State - IGN ON UNLOCKED
    • Key In - ACTIVE
    • Column Feedback - ACTIVE
  2. Turn ignition off, leaving key inserted. Steering column should remain unlocked and listed scan tool parameters should display the following:
    • Lock State - IGN OFF UNLOCKED
    • Key In - ACTIVE
    • Column Feedback - ACTIVE
  3. Remove key from ignition switch. Steering column should lock and listed scan tool parameters should display the following:
    • Lock State - IGN OFF LOCKED
    • Key In - INACTIVE
    • Column Feedback - INACTIVE
  4. Reinsert key into ignition switch. Steering column should remain locked and listed scan tool parameters should display the following:
    • Lock State - IGN OFF LOCKED
    • Key In - ACTIVE
    • Column Feed Back - INACTIVE
  5. Turn ignition on. Steering column should unlock and listed scan tool parameters should display the following:
    • Lock State - IGN ON UNLOCKED
    • Key In - ACTIVE
    • Column Feedback - ACTIVE
