Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks: Testing and Inspection
Engine Tune-up Preparation1. Verify the following:
^ AT: Selector lever is in P or N position.
^ MT: Shift lever is in neutral position.
2. Turn off all electrical loads (A/C).
3. Warm up the engine.
(1) Increase the engine speed to 2,500-3,000 rpm until cooling fans start running.
(2) When the cooling fans start running, release the accelerator pedal and wait until the cooling fans stop running.
4. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
5. Verify that the idling speed (M-MDS: RPM PID) is within the specification using the M-MDS function.
Standard (no load)
AT: 760-860 rpm
MT: 750-850 rpm
