2AZ-FE STARTING: IGNITION SWITCH: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of the following service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing the steering column assembly Service Precautions.

1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS STRAIGHT AHEAD

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

Removal

4. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

5. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

6. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector from the ignition switch.





(b) Remove the 2 screws and ignition switch.
