Defective Speed Sensor or Modulator

  1. Unplug wheel sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between wheel sensor terminals. If resistance is not 500-1000 ohms, replace wheel sensor. If resistance is correct, connect ABS tester to system. Check system with ABS tester in modes "2" and "3". If system does not operate properly, replace modulator.
  2. If system is okay, remove ABS tester. Remove rear seat back. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ECM and each speed sensor. If any circuit contains no continuity, repair open circuit. If all circuits have continuity, replace ECM and retest.
