Shoulder Buckle Motor Test

  1. Remove the quarter trim panel or center pillar lower trim panel. See FRONT SEAT BELT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect the 2-pin connector from the shoulder buckle motor. See Fig 1 .
  3. CAUTION: When the motor stops running, disconnect a battery terminal immediately.
  4. Test motor operation by connecting battery leads to terminals No. 1 and 2. Test the motor in each direction, by switching the leads from the battery.
  5. If the motor does not run, replace the shoulder seat belt rail assembly. See FRONT SEAT BELT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
