Fuel Pressure Regulator Cut-Off Solenoid Valve Test I

  1. Engine coolant temperature must be greater than 22°F (105°C), and intake air temperature must be greater than 176°F (80°C). Disconnect 6-wire fuel pressure regulator cut-off solenoid valve connector.
  2. Connect voltmeter positive lead to Black/Yellow wire terminal and negative lead to Light Green wire terminal. Measure voltage within one minute after starting engine.
  3. If voltage is present, replace cut-off solenoid valve. If voltage is NOT present, move negative lead to body ground. If voltage is now present, go to step 5).
  4. If voltage is NOT present, check for open circuit in Black/Yellow wire between cut-off solenoid valve and No. 9 (10-amp) fuse. Repair circuit or replace faulty fuse.
  5. Check for open circuit in Light Green wire between cut-off solenoid valve and ECU terminal A13. If wire is okay, substitute a known good ECU and retest. If problem goes away, replace original ECU.
