Direct Ignition System (Dis)

Battery voltage is supplied through ignition switch to the ECU, ignitor unit, ignition coil and spark plugs. See Fig 1 . ECU triggers ignitor unit based upon signals from CRANK/CYL and other sensors. Each spark plug is fired directly by one of 6 coils. Each coil is controlled by the ignitor.
