Test B: Memory Will Not Set
- Perform input test No. 6. See TEST 6 in CONTROL UNIT INPUT TESTS (POWER SEAT) under COMPONENT TESTS. If results are okay, reconnect the seat control unit and go to the next step. If the results are not okay, check the possible cause(s) and make necessary repairs.
- Turn ignition switch on. Measure voltage at the Yellow/White wire terminal on connector "C" at the control unit. See Figure . If there are 5 volts, go to the next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 4 .
- Disconnect the connector from the seat memory switch and check voltage at the Yellow/White wire terminal. If there are 5 volts, replace the switch. If voltage is not as specified, inspect the Yellow/White wire for short to ground. If the wire is okay, install a known-good control unit and retest.
- Disconnect the connector from the seat memory switch. Connect a jumper wire between the Yellow/White and Black wire terminals and measure voltage. If voltage at Yellow/White wire drops to less than one volt, replace the seat memory switch. If voltage is not as specified, repair open in the Yellow/White or Black wires.
