July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Codes P1336 & P1337 - CKF Sensor

  1. Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Clear codes. Turn ignition on. Retrieve codes. If Code P1336 or P1337 appears, go to next step. If neither code appears, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections or loose wires associated with CKF sensor, then repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Unplug CKF sensor. Measure resistance between sensor terminals No. 1 (Red wire) and 2 (White wire). If resistance is 800-1500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 800-1500 ohms, replace sensor.
  3. Test each sensor terminal for continuity to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
  4. Reconnect wiring to sensor. Unplug 12-pin ECM harness connector. Measure resistance between harness connector pins C4 (White/Red wire) and C5 (Blue/Red wire). If resistance is 800-1500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 500-1000 ohms, repair open in Red/White, White, White/Red, or Blue/Red wires between sensor and ECM.
  5. Test for continuity between harness connector pins C4 (White/Red wire) and ground, and between pin C5 (Blue/Red wire) and ground. If continuity exists, repair shorted White/Red or Blue/Red wire. If continuity does not exist, temporarily substitute known good ECM, then retest system.
