Intake Air Control (IAC) Valve

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug 2-wire connector on IAC valve. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between Yellow/Black wire terminal of IAC valve connector and ground. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between IAC valve connector and main relay. If battery voltage exists, go to step 2).
  2. Connect ECM test harness connector "A" to main wire harness only. DO NOT  connect to ECM. Turn ignition on. Momentarily connect and disconnect jumper wire between terminals A9 and A26. See Figure . If IACV clicks, substitute a known-good IACV and recheck symptom. If IACV does not click, check Blue/Red wire between IAC valve and ECM terminal A9. If wire is okay, replace IACV.
