Ignitor Input Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Acura Legend. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiring harness from ignitor. Using ohmmeter, ensure continuity exists between Black wires and ground. If continuity does not exist, check for open wire or bad ground connection.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, check for battery voltage between ground and each White wire of harness (including White wires with tracer color). See Fig 1. If voltage is not present, check for blown fuse No. 25 (30-amp) or open circuit in White wire. If circuits and fuse are okay, replace ignition coil.
