DTC P0133 & P0153 - Primary Heated O2 Sensor Slow Response

NOTE: DTC P0133 indicates a slow response problem in the primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on the right cylinder bank (bank 1, sensor 1). DTC P0153 indicates a slow response problem in the primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on the left cylinder bank (bank 2, sensor 1).

Clear PCM memory. Start and run engine at 3000 RPM until fan comes on. Install SCS service connector tool. See Figure . Test drive vehicle with transmission in "D" position. If DTC P0133 or P0153 returns, replace suspect HO2S. If DTC P0133 or P0153 does not return, failure is intermittent check for poor connections and loose wires on HO2S circuit.
