Defogger & Folding Switch Circuit Test
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect defogger and folding switch harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and defogger switch connector (harness side) at terminal No. 4. See Fig 1 . Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is not present, heater circuit or heater element is faulty. Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between folding switch harness connector terminals No. 4 and 7, between terminal No. 5 and ground, then between terminal No. 8 and ground. See Fig 2 . Continuity should be present in all checks.
- Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and connector terminal No. 6. Battery voltage should be present. If switch wiring circuit does not test as previously described, repair appropriate wiring circuit as necessary.
