DTC PO111: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem
NOTE:
As intake air temperature increases IAT sensor resistance decreases.
NOTE:
IAT sensor is incorporated within Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAF sensor 5-pin connector and remove MAF sensor. Reconnect sensor connector. Ensure sensor is exposed to ambient air temperature. Turn ignition on. Using a scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If ambient air temperature is indicated, go to next step. If ambient temperature is not indicated, replace MAF sensor.
- Using a hair dryer, warm IAT sensor. Using scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If IAT sensor temperature increases 1.8°F (1.0°C) or more, problem is intermittent, system is okay at this time. If IAT sensor temperature does not increase as specified, replace MAF sensor.
