Main Switch Test

  1. Remove main switch from instrument panel. With main switch in OFF position, check for continuity between main switch terminals No. 1 and 4. Also check for continuity between terminals No. 2 and 5. See Fig 1 . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for faulty bulb. Replace bulb, if necessary. Repeat test. If switch continuity is not as specified, replace main switch.
  2. Turn main switch to ON position. Check for continuity between main switch terminals No. 1, 4 and 6. Also check for continuity between terminals No. 2 and 5. If continuity exists, switch is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace switch. Retest system.
