Idle Speed

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1998 Acura Integra, 1998 Acura 3.5RL, 1998 Acura 3.2TL, 1998 Acura 3.0CL, and 1998 Acura 2.5TL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ensure idle speed is set to specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . For adjustment procedures, see ADJUSTMENTS article.

IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS

(1) Transmission in Neutral or Park and IAC valve disconnected and no accessory loads.
(2) Transmission in Neutral or Park, IAC valve connected and no accessory loads.
(3) Transmission in Neutral or Park, IAC valve connected and headlights on low.
(4) Turn all accessories off and allow engine to idle for one minute. Place blower motor switch to HI position and turn A/C On. Idle speed should be 770-870 RPM for B18B1 engines and 1000-1100 RPM for B18C5 engines
(5) With headlights on, or headlights off, blower switch set to high and A/C on.
(6) With headlights off, blower switch set to high and A/C on.
