DTC P0111: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Range/Performance

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAT sensor 2-pin connector and remove IAT sensor. Reconnect IAT sensor and expose to ambient temperature. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If ambient temperature is present, go to next step. If ambient temperature is not present, replace IAT sensor.
  2. Using a hair dryer, warm IAT sensor. Using scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If indicated temperature is 2°F (1°C) or more than ambient temperature, problem is intermittent, system is okay at this time. If indicated temperature has not increased as specified, replace IAT sensor.
