DTC P0111: IAT Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Acura 3.5RL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
As intake air temperature increases, IAT sensor resistance decreases.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor 2-pin connector and remove IAT sensor. Reconnect sensor connector. Ensure sensor is exposed to ambient air temperature. Turn ignition on. Using a scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If ambient air temperature is indicated, go to next step. If ambient temperature is not indicated, replace IAT sensor.
- Using a hair dryer, warm IAT sensor. Using scan tool, check IAT sensor data. If IAT sensor temperature increases 1.8°F (1.0°C) or more, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. If IAT sensor temperature does not increase as specified, replace IAT sensor.
