Anti-Theft System Function Test

  1. Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position and remove key. Close all doors, hood and trunk (all switches should be off). Using key, lock either front door (door lock knob and door key cylinder switches should be off). Security alarm system indicator light should begin flashing a pre-armed signal (one second on and one second off). If indicator light flashes for 15 seconds, go to next step. If indicator light does not flash for 15 seconds, system is disarmed. Ensure all door lock knob, door, trunk and/or panic button switches are not on and are operating properly. See COMPONENT TESTS  .
  2. After 15 seconds, an armed signal should flash (0.2 second on and 2.4 seconds off). Horns will sound and external lights will flash if system is activated. To disarm anti-theft system, unlock either front door using key or remote transmitter. Security alarm system indicator light should stop flashing. If system does not operate as specified, check multiplex control unit inputs and anti-theft system switches. See MULTIPLEX CONTROL UNIT INPUT TESTS.
